
- NBACC is increasingly recognized as the voice of private career colleges in New Brunswick; NBACC is seen as the source of information on and contact with private career colleges and their students. We receive inquiries on where certain types of programs are offered. NBACC and its members have been invited to participate in career events, including AARAO tours, and to make presentations to high school guidance counselors, employment and career counselors.
- NBACC makes representation of the interests of private career colleges to Federal and Provincial Governments, specifically with respect to:
- Student Loan Programs
- Student Loan Designation Policy
- Private Occupational Training Act
- Commission on Post-Secondary Education
- Guidance Counselors in high schools
- Employment and career counselors
- New Brunswick Government Skills Summit
- NBACC has ongoing dialogue with Minister, Deputy Minister and Officials of Dept. of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour
- NBACC submitted comments to Government on the Student Loan Designation Policy in 2006 and participated in the consultation session
- NBACC submitted a brief to the Commission on Post-Secondary Education, met with the Commissioners and participated in the consultations
- NBACC surveyed its members and their students in early 2007 and provides information on member colleges, their students and the programs offered by member colleges to counselors, students, parents, and other stakeholders
- Member colleges are listed in advertisements, and other promotional material of NBACC
- Participation in NBACC website, including listing of your college, link to your website, participation in searchable database of programs of member colleges
- Members’ brochures, information on member colleges displayed and distributed at conferences, workshops, career day events attended by high school students, guidance counselors, employment and career counselors
- Invitations to participate in career events and other promotional activities
- Participation in the NBACC Quality Assurance Program
- Special rates for participation in the NBACC Instructor Development Program
- Networking and partnering opportunities across Canada and internationally
- Meetings, workshops, annual conferences of NBACC and the National Association of Career Colleges
