
The New Brunswick Association of Career Colleges Code of Ethics requires that members agree to adhere to the following:
a) To demonstrate financial, legal and ethical accountability;
b) To always keep the best interest of the students and integrity of the program the focus of the institution.
c) To ensure that the institution, through its representatives, advertising and promotional material does not make any inaccurate, misleading or exaggerated claims regarding programs or future employability;
d) To ensure that the institution, through its representative, markets their products solely on its program strengths, curriculum merits and documented successes. To further ensure that no member institute, through its representatives, will make negative, derogatory or judgmental comments either verbally or in writing, regarding the programs, curriculum or administration of a competitor’s institution;
e) To determine to the best of our ability that a prospective student is fully informed of admission requirements, program curriculum, objectives and school policies. To ensure that pertinent information regarding the institution is made available to prospective clients to enable them to make an appropriate and informed choice when selecting a training program and institution. To direct client inquiries regarding programs, curriculum, school policies, etc. about other member institutions to the appropriate college. At no time should a representative of one member institution provide information on programs offered by a competitor.
f) To ensure that each student is advised in writing, at the time of registration, details of the entire cost of their course, including all textbooks and related equipment.
g) To provide each student with a schedule of all fees and payments required as part of the registration procedure.
h) To inform the student of program objectives, content, resources, evaluation and methodology used in the training.
i) To fully inform the student regarding his/her rights and obligations related to Student Financial Assistance.
j) To ensure that students receive a properly signed copy of their enrolment form together with a copy of the refund and withdrawal policy as it pertains to the New Brunswick Private Occupational Training Act within the allotted time as set out by the Act.
k) To maintain safe facilities and to comply with all civic and provincial regulations pertaining to fire, health and safety.
l) To provide adequate and up-to-date equipment to meet the needs of the program as well as current industry needs.
m) To maintain open communications between administrative staff and the student
n) To assess and report on the student’s progress on a regular basis.
o) To provide employment counseling and advice to all students enrolled in a career program.
p) To issue to the student a certificate or diploma upon successful completion of training and fulfillment of student obligations to the College.
